The main activity in this area is conducting in-depth analyses of road traffic accidents.
Our activities are focused on research related to road safety issues, particularly traffic accidents. In-depth analysis of traffic accidents is a unique research activity of the Transport Research Center. As part of this activity, selected traffic accidents involving injuries are analyzed with regard to the specifics of the traffic area, vehicle technology, and the human factor.
Data on accidents is primarily collected directly at the scene of the accident. The data obtained is then processed and comprehensively analyzed, including a reconstruction of the accident based on all the data obtained about the traffic accident. The data obtained provides a comprehensive view of all factors related to a specific accident and is also used to identify and subsequently analyze the characteristics that led to its occurrence, influenced its course, and its consequences. The outputs are used not only at the local level, but also at the national level. The data obtained serves as a high-quality database for a number of projects and other activities related to improving road safety and, due to its focus, is a valuable resource for the activities of the BESIP Independent Department.
We also focus on implementing national and international research projects that concentrate primarily on road safety issues, particularly in the area of traffic accidents. We are also actively involved in prevention and education activities. Our outputs and expert suggestions contribute to improving transport infrastructure and to innovations in the development and construction of motor vehicles.
