The project focuses on developing a system for diagnosing the condition of bridge structures and enhancing their protection using Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) technology. Its main objective is to determine the relationship between traffic load and bridge behaviour.
The proposed system integrates several key subsystems, including data matching between different sources, vehicle tracking across bridge structures, and a WIM subsystem with synchronised processing of bridge sensor data.
The collected data are analysed using specialised software incorporating elements of neural networks and machine learning, enabling advanced assessment of structural performance and identification of potential risks.
The project also delivers a methodology for monitoring and evaluating bridge behaviour and for implementing such systems in practice, contributing to improved safety and more efficient infrastructure management.
The project is carried out by Transport Research Centre (CDV).
Project CK02000126 is co-funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the Transport 2020+ Programme.
