The aim of the project is to develop an assessment procedure and a scale of effectiveness, i.e., "reasonably achievable levels" (RAL) of noise reduction measures on road and rail infrastructure. Applied research will use questionnaires, modeling, and verification measurements to analyze and compare the assessment of noise impacts on public health against the costs of noise reduction measures. The methodology will enable evaluation and provide guidance on how to work with the RDM institute for noise reduction measures when assessing individual infrastructure projects. The motivation for the project is to resolve the current disproportion, where the RDM institute is legislatively established in the Czech Republic, but there is a lack of scientific knowledge for evaluation based on the current state of the art, when to implement noise reduction measures and when it is already a case of inefficiently spent funds.
This project, Determination and optimization of vegetation strips of natural tree species composition serving to reduce traffic noise, is co-financed with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic under the TRANSPORT 2030 Program. This project is financed under the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
