Extending the service life of asphalt pavements by using alternative binders for cold recycling

Project presentation

The main objective of the project is to develop innovative types of hydraulic binders with additives for asphalt road base layers during cold recycling on site. Another main objective is laboratory and semi-operational verification of suitable compositions and the development of technological processes to reduce CO2 emissions and extend the service life of structures. The applicability of this system will be reflected in the newly emerging ČSN 73 6147 standard, which will replace the TP 208 regulation. The necessary adjustments for the practical application of these types of binders will be made by the researchers in parallel as part of the comment procedure. Another main objective is to create a comprehensive methodology for theoretical design and to define the necessary requirements related to this technology.
