GNSS signal interference detector for integrated safety means in road transport

Project presentation

The project addresses the detection and localisation of interference affecting Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), which are increasingly used in modern transport and safety systems. As reliance on these technologies grows, so does the need to identify both intentional and unintentional interference that may disrupt their functionality.

The main objective is to develop a GNSS interference detection system for applications in road transport and infrastructure. The project particularly focuses on tolling systems, which depend on the correct operation of GNSS receivers installed in vehicles. Signal interference may lead to incorrect toll collection or loss of vehicle position data.

The proposed solution will enable not only detection but also localisation and identification of interference sources, providing relevant data for enforcement authorities. The system will be validated under real operational conditions.

The project is led by Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
