National Hydrogen Mobility Center

Project presentation

The National Hydrogen Mobility Center (NAHYC-m) is a strategic project focused on the development and practical application of hydrogen technologies in transport in the Czech Republic. It was created in response to the EU and Czech Republic Hydrogen Strategy with the aim of contributing to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and accelerating the reduction of emissions in transport, where hydrogen has the fastest potential for benefits. The center connects the state, research organizations, and businesses in the field of research, development, and innovation (R&D&I), supports the creation of a hydrogen ecosystem from production through distribution to use in mobility, and helps remove technological and legislative barriers. The project is coordinated by the Transport Research Center (CDV), which was mandated to prepare it as part of the TA ČR National Competence Centers program. NAHYC-m uses cutting-edge research infrastructure across disciplines, contributes to the updating of key strategic documents, and creates space for public-private sector cooperation.

This National Hydrogen Mobility Center project is co-financed with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the National Competence Centers Program. This project was funded under the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility. The NAHYC-m project was supported under the 2nd Call for Proposals. The project is scheduled to conclude on December 31, 2028.
