Research into the effectiveness of measures to reduce energy consumption and emissions from transport by increasing the use of public transport at the expense of private car transport at the regional level

Project presentation

The aim of the project is to propose measures to increase the attractiveness of public transport compared to private transport, evaluate their effectiveness in model scenarios in order to determine the choice of transport mode in favor of public transport, and thus achieve savings in energy, harmful emissions, and CO2. Motives and factors determining behavior and decision-making in the use of PTM and PTM in the IDS JMK region will be identified, on the basis of which the content will be formulated and a visualization of the message to support the transition from PTM to PTM will be carried out. The effectiveness of the proposed measures will be evaluated using a questionnaire survey, an eye-tracking experiment, a transport model, and an emission model. The reduction in externalities from emissions will be calculated, and on this basis, the savings in social costs generated by IAD will be calculated.
