The SHOW project is a large-scale European initiative focused on deploying shared, connected, automated and electrified mobility in urban environments. Its goal is to support the transformation of urban transport towards more sustainable and efficient systems.
The project includes extensive real-life demonstrations in more than 20 European cities, where fleets of automated vehicles are integrated into public transport, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT), Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and Logistics as a Service (LaaS) schemes.
SHOW is one of the largest and most comprehensive initiatives for piloting automated vehicles in urban environments. It brings together 66 partners from 13 European countries and fosters international collaboration with organisations worldwide.
More than 70 highly automated vehicles (SAE L4/L5) are deployed within the project, operating in both dedicated lanes and mixed traffic. Demonstrations include passenger and freight transport and make use of advanced technologies such as 5G, IoT, and cooperative transport systems.
In addition to technological development, the project focuses on new business models, impact assessment at city level, and supporting the deployment of automated mobility through guidelines, policy recommendations, and standardisation activities.
The project is coordinated by UITP (International Association of Public Transport). The Technical and Innovation Manager is CERTH/HIT.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 875530.
