Use of polymer coatings for the protection of railway infrastructure objects with the application of recycled materials

Project presentation

The aim of the project is to introduce recycled plastic-based materials into existing products or technologies and innovate their material composition. The project will address the protection of railway infrastructure objects from the effects of stray currents generated in the DC traction power supply system. The purpose is to identify and subsequently introduce suitable types of recycled plastics into products and test their functional properties (electrical resistivity, mechanical and physical properties, etc.). New types of mixtures will be tested in the laboratory and subsequently in operation. Furthermore, the mixing process will be monitored and optimized in order to determine the optimal dosage of components, possibly using other suitable additives, in order to reduce CO2 production during manufacturing without compromising the durability and quality of the final construction work.
