The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive progressive noise barrier system (PHS) for use along roads, which will increase the sustainability and safety of transport through the use of new materials and design solutions. The proposed PHS system will use innovative diffractors-based design elements to achieve high noise absorption (80-90%) and optimal sound insulation. A new method of installing PHS using ground screws will be developed based on newly designed products. The material composition will be selected with regard to sustainability (recycled and recyclable materials) and reduction of production, installation, and life cycle costs. As part of the solution, documentation will also be prepared for updating the Ministry of Transport's technical regulation TP 104 for the design, implementation, and repair of PHS.
This project, Determination and optimization of vegetation strips with natural tree species composition for traffic noise reduction, is co-financed with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic under the TRANSPORT 2030 Program. This project is financed under the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
