The Transport Research Centre, v. v. i., is implementing a new strategic project titled “Ensuring the Cybersecurity of CDV Information Systems,” which focuses on the comprehensive modernization and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The project is funded by the National Recovery Plan under the “Cybersecurity – Transport” call for proposals, administered by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
The project is scheduled to run from now until May 2026. A team of experts from the CDV IT department is working on the project in collaboration with external partners specializing in cybersecurity.
Main objective of the project
The objective of the project is to significantly strengthen the cybersecurity of CDV’s information and communication systems. The organization is thus responding to the growing number and sophistication of cyber threats as well as to new legislative requirements, including the upcoming NIS2 Directive.
The project focuses on:
-
expanding and securing communication systems,
-
modernizing and increasing the resilience of virtual and business continuity management (BCM) infrastructure,
-
strengthening data protection through backup solutions,
-
utilizing the secure eGovernment Cloud environment,
-
and implementing an information security management system (ISMS) in accordance with current legislation.
What the project will deliver
Implementation of the project will enable CDV not only to meet the legislative requirements of Act No. 181/2014 Coll. on cybersecurity, but above all to significantly increase the reliability, availability, and protection of all key information systems.
New technologies and security measures will support the secure operation of both internal and public systems, such as scientific and research databases, economic and document management systems, and GIS platforms.
In the long term, the project will contribute to greater resilience and stability of the CDV’s digital infrastructure, ensure better protection of data for employees, partners, and public administration, and create a solid foundation for the further development of digitization and modern IT services within the research organization.
