The Transport Research Centre has joined the BA Sweeper project in cooperation with BringAuto. The project aims to develop an innovative solution for efficient, environmentally friendly, and safe cleaning of public and industrial spaces.
The Transport Research Centre, v. v. i., has joined as a partner in the Autonomous Cleaning Robot – BA Sweeper project, with BringAuto as the main beneficiary. The project is funded by the Operational Programme Technologies and Applications for Competitiveness (OP TAK) and focuses on developing an innovative solution for cleaning public and industrial spaces.
The goal of the project is to finalize the prototype of the autonomous cleaning robot and prepare it for market launch. The resulting solution combines an electric cleaning machine with advanced autonomous control and teleoperation technologies. The robot will be designed for use in locations such as city parks, pedestrian zones, industrial sites, or exhibition areas.
BA Sweeper brings a number of innovations that address the current needs of modern cities and industry. Its main benefits include:

autonomous operation using sensors, cameras, and LiDAR for safe movement in complex environments,

the ability for remote control and monitoring by an operator,

fully electric propulsion with zero local emissions,

the capability for long-term operation with minimal human intervention.
The project thus contributes to the development of sustainable and efficient technologies that can significantly reduce maintenance costs for both public and private spaces while minimizing negative environmental impacts.
The role of the Transport Research Centre consists of providing expert collaboration in the development and validation of the solution under real-world conditions. Thanks to its experience in the fields of transport safety, autonomous mobility, and transport engineering, the CDV is helping to ensure that the resulting solution is not only technologically advanced but also safe and suitable for practical deployment.
The project was launched in October 2024 and is being implemented in the South Moravian Region. The total project budget amounts to nearly 40 million CZK, of which more than 21.5 million CZK comes from European Union funding.
