Prof. Karel Pospíšil returns as Director of the Transport Research Centre, having previously led the institution between 2007 and 2016.
The Transport Research Centre has a new director. Prof. Ing. Karel Pospíšil, Ph.D. is returning to lead the institution, a position he previously held from 2007 to 2016.
He joins CDV from his position as director of the Institute of Forensic Engineering at the Brno University of Technology, where in recent years he has focused, among other things, on risk management, strategic management, and building information modeling (BIM).
Karel Pospíšil is one of the leading figures in Czech transportation research. He has been associated with CDV since 2000, when he began working there as a specialist in the field of transportation infrastructure. He gradually held leadership and managerial positions and became the institution’s director in 2007.
During his previous tenure at the helm of CDV, he played a significant role in its transformation into a modern public research institution. Under his leadership, management was reorganized, funding sources were diversified, and research and publishing activities were significantly strengthened. During this period, CDV, among other things, carried out key projects in the field of transportation research and expanded its professional and infrastructural capabilities.

I enjoy introducing new things, streamlining processes, and driving organizations and people toward better results.
