ORLEN EV Report 2026: CDV delivers a comprehensive overview of electromobility in the Czech Republic

CDV contributed to the ORLEN EV Report 2026, the first comprehensive, data-driven overview of electromobility and infrastructure development in the Czech Republic.

The Transport Research Centre (CDV), in cooperation with ORLEN Unipetrol Group, contributed to the preparation of the ORLEN EV Report 2026, which provides the first comprehensive, data-driven overview of electromobility development in the Czech Republic.

The report offers an in-depth insight into the current state and future trends of electromobility – covering vehicle registrations, fleet structure, and the development of charging and refuelling infrastructure in both national and European contexts.

“Until now, a comprehensive and data-based overview of electromobility development has been missing in the Czech Republic. We believe this report will help stakeholders better navigate this rapidly evolving sector and serve as an important foundation for the further development of sustainable transport,” said Rostislav Moravec from ORLEN Unipetrol Group.

CDV played a key role in the preparation of the report, contributing its analytical expertise and long-term experience in the field of low- and zero-emission transport.

“The report provides an up-to-date overview of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. A significant part of the analysis is based on data from the cistadoprava.cz portal, which CDV operates as the national information platform for clean mobility,” added Jindřich Frič from CDV.

Key highlights of the report

The publication focuses on several core areas of electromobility development in the Czech Republic:

  • CO₂ emissions – average emissions of newly registered vehicles decreased to 128 g/km in 2025

  • Vehicle fleet – detailed statistics on battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), and hydrogen vehicles (FCEV) across categories

  • Infrastructure – development of public charging points and hydrogen refuelling stations, including comparison with national targets

  • Outlook – expert forecasts of market and infrastructure development based on historical data and regulatory frameworks

The report serves as a practical analytical resource for professionals, public authorities, and stakeholders in the transport and energy sectors.
