Railway Safety Workshop Opened Key Discussions on Signal Passed at Danger Incidents

Railway experts met in Brno to discuss the causes of signal passed at danger incidents, prevention measures and new tools aimed at improving railway operational safety.

On 27 May 2026, the Transport Research Centre (CDV) hosted the expert workshop Signal Passed at Danger – Current Issues in Brno, continuing its long-term research focused on unauthorised train movements and railway safety.

The event brought together representatives of public authorities, infrastructure managers, railway operators, professional associations and researchers. Discussions focused on recent trends in signal passed at danger incidents, the development of the Signal Passed at Danger Map, analyses of high-risk locations, preventive measures and new safety tools, including signal repeaters.

The workshop outcomes will contribute to the ongoing Signal Passed at Danger project and support the development of recommendations aimed at further improving railway safety in the Czech Republic.
