Jindřich Frič, Director of the Transport Research Centre, appeared in a report on the program *Události v regionech* on Czech Television, where he commented on the progress and significance of the current nationwide traffic census.
In the interview, he emphasized the key role of the collected data for transportation infrastructure planning, evaluating the economic return on construction projects, traffic safety, and environmental impacts. The data is used by a wide range of entities—from designers to government agencies to municipalities, which use it, for example, when applying for grants for transportation projects.
The survey, which takes place on approximately 6,600 sections, is conducted every five years, and its results are essential for long-term traffic volume forecasts and further infrastructure development.
