Gender Equality Plan

The Horizon Europe Framework Program has introduced a new eligibility criterion for applicant institutions: the requirement to have a Gender Equality Plan (GEP) in place by 2022. This is a strategic document or program aimed at analyzing equal opportunities for men and women in research and implementing measures to help improve this situation.

The Transport Research Centre, v. v. i. has long supported gender equality in research and within the institution’s work environment. Even before the creation of the first Gender Equality Plan (2022–2025), a number of measures were adopted and implemented to help achieve this equality. In 2021, the CDV also received the prestigious HR Excellence in Research award for its commitment to human resources in the scientific environment.

The CDV Gender Equality Plan 2026–2028 is the institution’s second gender equality plan. It was developed, among other things, based on an equal opportunity audit conducted by the Gender Information Center NORA, o.p.s., in accordance with the Gender Audit Standard of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic. The plan sets goals aimed at further developing this supportive work and social environment. It follows the recommendations of the European Commission and addresses the following five areas:

  1. Work-life balance and organizational culture;

  2. gender balance in leadership and decision-making;

  3. gender equality in recruitment and career advancement;

  4. integration of the gender dimension into science and research;

  5. measures against gender-based violence, including sexual harassment.

The individual goals and measures leading to their fulfillment are defined in the GEP Action Plan, which is part of this document.
