Regular evaluation of local BESIP strategies helps cities respond to changes in accident trends, update action plans and improve the effectiveness of road safety measures.
Abstract
A modern method for a comprehensive and systematic solution to road traffic safety in the city can be local BESIP strategies. It is recommended to prepare a local strategy for a period corresponding to the validity period of the national strategy. This is usually a longer program period, during which there may be a sudden change in the development of the accident rate, which requires responding by adjusting activities, or updating the action plan. Updating and specifying BESIP activities is carried out through a separate concept, the so-called Information on implementation, which follows on from the created strategic document and evaluates the fulfillment of the set goals and key indicators. The article deals with the process of creating this evaluation concept, giving an example of processing and subsequent use on the example of the city of Otrokovice.
